In order to promote research and to improve the standard and quality of teaching in the area of quantitative economics, the Chinese Association of Quantitative Economics and Xiamen University will jointly organize the Second National Conference of Doctoral Education in Quantitative Economics. The conference will be hosted by the Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE) and the School of Economics, Xiamen University from December 20 to 21, 2008,
The main themes of the conference are:
1) The scope and development of quantitative economics in China;
2) The current status, future development and program design of doctoral education in quantitative economics in Chinese universities;
3) International comparison on doctoral education in quantitative economics.
Confirmed keynote speakers include:
l Professor Cheng Hsiao, University of South California, Editor of Journal of Econometrics
l Professor Tongsan Wang, President of the Chinese Association of Quantitative Economics
l Professor Zi’nai Li, Vice President of the Chinese Association of Quantitative Economics
Officials from the Ministry of Education, Department of Degree Administration and Graduate Education, and professors and experts in relevant fields from prestigious Chinese universities will attend the conference.
