The 11th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) will be held in Xiamen, China during September 8th-11th, 2007. As an important component, the 5th Capital forum of the CIFIT titled “the 2007 Summit of Private Equity Fund” will be co-organized by WISE, Singapore Management University (SMU) and Xiamen Power Capital Co., Ltd.
The CIFIT is the only large-scale international promotional event for China to attract foreign direct investments. The Capital forum, as an important component of the CIFIT, has gained an international reputation and enjoyed its prominence as a famous brand activity in China’s capital market. The Power Capital Co, Ltd., who is a boutique investment banking firm with specialty in international business, has successfully hosted the forum for 4 years. And the 5th Capital Forum - “the 2007 Summit of Private Equity Fund”, co-sponsored by China (Xiamen) International Investment Promotion Center, Xiamen University and Power Capital, will be co-organized by WISE, SMU and Power Capital in September 2007 at Xiamen. This summit will not only be the first collaboration between WISE and Power Capital, but also be the substantive start-up of the China Capital Market Research Center established by WISE and SMU.
Titled with “2007 Summit of Private Equity Fund”, the forum aims to detect and exploit the new industry, market and opportunity in China from the aspect of private equity investment institutions, and works toward better understandings of the strategy, approach and risk of Chinese enterprises’ participation in private placement and IPO. Furthermore, the forum also intends to explore the economists, government superiors and industrial professionals’ viewpoints on private equity fund and provide a platform for further discussion on the subject of actualizing the cooperation and success between Chinese enterprises and private equity.
The forum has attracted a group of senior executives and professions, who come from the People’s Bank of China, Monetary Authority of Singapore, world’s major stock exchanges, international leading fund management institutes and investment banks. On the forum, these experts will share their knowledge and experience with the participants. More specifically, they will analyze the current policies and regulations in the capital market, discuss the present status and prospect of Chinese private equity investment and explore the market opportunities for Chinese enterprises to attract foreign direct investment and the participation of them in the field private equity and IPO. By far, the preparation for the forum is smoothly under way. Over 25 distinguished guests and 350 participants are expected to attend the forum. Moreover, the forum will also promulgate the latest version of the Research Report of China’s Private Equity Fund, which is edited by WISE with a joint effect of SMU and Power Capital.
As a burgeoning subject in China, the theory and practice of private equity fund sprouts in a circumstance full of challenges and opportunities. WISE, by hosting this forum, not only fulfills its duty of presenting the latest research fruits in relative fields and represent the future tendency of the industry, but also provides a communicative platform for the scholars, enterprises, investors and regulatory authorities.
