The 1st International Symposium on Interval Data Modelling: Theory and Applications (SIDM2015) will take place on July 3-4, 2015 in Beijing, China. A tutorial day will be set on July 2.
This symposium is jointly organized by the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE), Xiamen University, in collaboration with the System Engineering Society of China.
Confirmed Keynote Speakers
l Ray-Yeutien Chou, Acedemia Sinica

l Amos Golan, American University Washington, DC
l Gil González-Rodríguez, University of Oviedo
l Carlos Maté, Comillas Pontifical University
l Ilya Molchanov, University of Bern

Aims and Topics
Interval data, or more generally symbolic data, are of increasingly available in practice. Major developments of solutions to modelling interval data include interval time series models, symbolic data analysis, fuzzy set and random set, and imprecise probabilities. The objective of this symposium is to provide a multi-disciplinary forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange knowledge and expertise on interval data modelling and related fields in both theory and practice, to share information on current and future developments, and to initiate advancements toward solutions to our challenges through cross-fertilization.
The topics of interest of this symposium include, but are not limited to:
l Interval time series analysis
l Interval forecasts
l Symbolic data analysis
l Risk measurement and volatility modelling
l Statistical inference of interval data
l Random set and fuzzy set
l Interval analysis and interval computing
l Histogram data models
l Applications of interval models
