2007 Administration Workshop

Founded by Xiamen University (XMU) in 2005, Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics is dedicated to its policy of international-oriental education and aims to establish itself as an influential regional center for modern economics education and studies in Asia-Pacific. In the past two years, WISE has fully utilized its international academic resources and successfully gathered a team of scholars, who have passion and potentials in academic studies. Furthermore, WISE has impressively held a series of international leading academic conferences and a bunch of international symposiums and academic workshops in economics and finance, which have attracted lots of international renowned scholars came to China. Besides, WISE has also strived to establish the academic links with other international leading universities and academic institutes and has successfully cooperated with them in a series of collaborative researches and joint educations. WISE now has already served as a highly active institute for academic researches and teaching excellence as well as a dynamic center for international academic communication. During its practice, WISE has always tried its best to find out a way to establish an international standard administrative system, which shall be highly efficient, concentrative and dynamic. It has now accumulated an abundance of experience in foreign-relative administration and service and its outstanding administrators have also gained an international reputation. As a basic element of the ‘soft’ environment, administration and services are crucial to the higher education and academic researches. But its prominent position has not been given enough attention in China. For the purpose of summation and communication, WISE has decided to host the 2007 Administration Workshop in this summer vacation. This workshop will not only focus on the modernization, standardization and globalization of university level administration and secretarial service, but will also strive to develop a international standard administrative system which fits into Chinese reality and hence improve the efficiency of university level administration and secretarial service in China. The workshop has now invited a team of international administrative directors who are familiar with administration and secretarial service in Chinese and foreign universities. And the lectures will be delivered in Chinese.

Participants: officers of departments for foreign affairs, administrators and secretaries of Chinese universities
Enrollment: 50 students
Types of training: lecture, case study, course discussion and professional guidance
Registration fee: 800 RMB (including registration fee, handout payment and a dinner party). All the participants should make their own arrangements for accommodation, while necessary local information would be provide by WISE.
