CALL FOR PAPERS -- LABOR2010

 

 

 

      We are pleased to announce the 5th International Symposium on Contemporary Labor Economics at the Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE), Xiamen University, China. We invite submission of papers related to labor migration, internal migration and urbanization, spatial distribution of jobs, regional and rural-urban wage disparity, economic integration and labor market, trade and labor market, and education.

      The main purpose of this symposium is to stimulate exchange between international and Chinese scholars on current research in labor economics and to generate international interests in the Chinese labor market.  We have enjoyed great success in the symposium since its first launch in 2006, and it is now a leading academic event on labor economics in China.  Please visit the conference website for more information regarding our previous gatherings.

 

     Researchers interested in participating should submit their paper through our online application form in the conference website. There is no registration fee for LABOR2010. Presenters of accepted papers (one presenter each paper) will be provided with up to 3 nights of hotel room, meals with the conference, and a free local tour. They are responsible for all other expenses. The submission deadline is October 1st, 2010. Decisions of acceptance will be announced by October 15th, 2010.

      Xiamen is located in Southeast China and has convenient direct flights to many major cities in Asia.  It is famous for its resort like atmosphere and has a reputation of “Garden over Sea.” Interesting places near Xiamen include the UNESCO World Heritage Hakka Earth Buildings, Gulangyu (Piano Island) and Wuyi Mountain.
